Frequently asked questions

What is Waribiki Alert?

Waribiki Alert is our English directory of verified ways to travel Japan for less. We check every rail and bus pass, ferry deal, airport access deal, hotel and ryokan discount, regional tourism coupon and attraction pass against its official source, and we give you its dates.

How often is it updated?

We re-check every deal listed here against its official source on a rolling basis, and we check each one again before its end date arrives. Every deal page shows the date we last checked it, and if a re-check finds that a price or a date has changed, we update the listing or take it down. Details can still change after our last check, so please confirm on the official source before you book.

Can tourists use these deals?

Yes, most of them. We mark every deal with who can use it: 'Visitors' deals (most rail passes and airport tickets) are for short-term visitors to Japan, and the rest are open to everyone travelling in Japan, including people who live here.

Is there a deal for every prefecture?

Yes. Every one of the 47 prefectures has at least one deal we have checked, and our nationwide deals apply everywhere on top of that. Pick where you are going in the Browse by prefecture grid and we will show you every deal we have found for it.

Coverage by prefecture

Every one of the 47 prefectures has at least one current or upcoming deal. Our nationwide deals (booking site sales and airline fares) apply everywhere on top of that, and our transport coverage runs to all 47 prefectures.
